Syd Kennedy quickly made her mark in Halifax Tides FC’s inaugural NSL season, appearing in 24 games and scoring 1 goal, while picking up Goal of the Week, Rookie of the Week, and the club’s Fan Choice award. The Nova Scotian forward has been a standout from a young age, netting six goals for Canada’s U‑15 National Team to help secure silver at the 2016 CONCACAF Championship and delivering the game-winning goal for Nova Scotia’s bronze at the 2017 Canada Summer Games—the province’s first women’s soccer medal since 1993. Kennedy went on to captain the University of Florida, making 53 appearances and earning the 2023 Leadership Award, before a prolific 12-goal season at Acadia University in 2023. Known for her scoring instincts, tenacity, and connection with fans, Kennedy quickly became a central figure in Halifax’s attack.
