Halifax Tides outshot Calgary Wild 18-4 but couldn't find a breakthrough, playing to a 0-0 draw Saturday at Wanderers Grounds.

Both clubs came in chasing a win, with the Tides looking for the extra boost they need to earn a playoff spot. It was a physical match with Calgary picking up four yellow cards and forced into an early change when Stewart replaced Dougherty Howard in the 19th minute. Calgary made two more changes at the start of the second half, with Johnson coming on for Thurton and St. Jean for Moore. Johnson was booked in the 54th minute, followed by Baucom (70'), M. Jones (75') and M. Pogarch (90'+2').

Halifax controlled the attack, finishing with three shots on target to Calgary's 0. The Tides also held a 28-5 edge in crosses and earned four corners to Calgary's two. Calgary's defence was busy, making 30 clearances to the Tides' 10.

Head coach Stephen Hart looked to the bench for a spark. Julie Pedersen came on for Karima Lemire in the 64th minute. Then in the 76th, Sheyenne Allen replaced Stella Downing, Sydney Kennedy replaced Saorla Miller, and Tiffany Cameron replaced Julia Benati.

Cameron nearly won it late, getting on the end of a header in the closing minutes to put it in the back of the net, but flagged as the goal was ruled out for offside.

The draw keeps the Tides in the hunt, but the playoff picture remains tight. After the weekend, Halifax continues to sit in fifth in the standings, just one point back of a playoff spot.
