Halifax Tides FC will open their 2026 home schedule on Saturday when they host Ottawa Rapid FC at 1 p.m. at Wanderers Grounds.

It marks the club’s first game of the second Northern Super League season, opening against Ottawa Rapid FC after the two sides also met in the final match of the inaugural campaign at Wanderers Grounds. Halifax earned its first-ever league win over Ottawa earlier that season, in their first home meeting.

The club has named its leadership group for the 2026 season, with Syd Kennedy, Saorla Miller, and Cho So-Hyun serving as team captains.

Halifax returns to Wanderers Grounds following the start of its new campaign, with the club set to debut a refreshed roster at home for the first time this season.

Saturday’s match will also feature the club’s Teal Wave theme, with fans encouraged to help set the tone for the season at Wanderers Grounds.

Striker Tiffany Cameron, who is also a Jamaican-Canadian recording artist and Halifax Tides FC player, will see her track Victory, named the league’s official theme song earlier this season, featured throughout the 2026 campaign. Cameron said the connection between sport and music reflects the city’s identity.

“Halifax is known for its music culture, and it’s special to be part of a club that reflects that,” said Cameron. “To have Victory connected to the league this season is something I’m proud of, and I hope it brings energy to both players and supporters.”

Club president Val Malone said the home opener represents an important moment for the group as it continues to build into the season.

“There is real anticipation around this team and what we are building this year,” said Malone. “Returning to Wanderers Grounds with our supporters behind us is an important step as we continue to grow on and off the pitch.”

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Wanderers Grounds.
