Halifax Tides FC recorded a clean sheet and earned a point in a 0-0 draw against the Montréal Roses on Saturday afternoon at Wanderers Grounds, moving one point off of a playoff spot with three games remaining.

The result leaves the Tides fifth in the Northern Super League standings at 7-10-5 with 26 points, one behind fourth place.

Halifax came out with intent. "We said from before the game started we were going to be adventurous. We were going to attack. We started really, really well," said head coach Stephen Hart.

The Tides' back line held firm all afternoon, making 28 clearances and keeping the league's top side off the scoresheet. Halifax matched Montréal with four shots on target and earned eight corners to their opponent's five.

Goalkeeper Anika Tóth was the difference at the back and was named player of the match by the supporters' group, the first player to receive the club's new commemorative token, which carries the date of the match and a number. "It's an honour for sure... it's just great to see the fans are appreciative of us and our performances, and our ability to get a clean sheet today," said [Name].

Hart made five changes: Julie Pedersen replaced Karima Lemire at the start of the second half, followed by Annika Leslie (57'), Sydney Kennedy and Tiffany Cameron (64') and Meredith McDermott (77'). Addison Weichers was shown a yellow card in the 72nd minute.

With three games left, the focus stays on the Tides' own performances. "We can only control what we do. We said we didn't want to have to depend on other teams for things to happen for us," said Hart. "We'll continue to be positive, on the front foot and be adventurous in the next three games. I can promise you that."
