Halifax Tides FC is proud to welcome one of the brightest young midfielders in the game, Sofia Cedeño!

Known to many as Sof, Cedeño brings a creative spark and relentless engine to the Tides midfield. Originally from Panama, but raised in Houston, her game blends Latin flair with Southern grit resulting in a unique, technical style that turns heads and breaks lines.

A product of the Solar SC ECNL program in Dallas, Sof’s youth career has been nothing short of standout. Though she committed to powerhouse UCLA in 2023, her path has already been shaped by elite competition and a deep love for the game. She’s earned top honours as a 2024 ECNL All-American, and holds multiple high school records, including most career goals, assists, and total points. She was also named Best Midfielder in her district, with the Goal of the Year for good measure.

Cedeño’s skill and drive also caught the eye of the national program, earning a call-up to the U.S. U-19 Youth National Team Camp in 2024– a testament to her ceiling and the impact she’s already making.

From Panama to Texas to the East Coast, Sof is ready to make waves in teal and purple.
