Halifax Tides FC signed midfielder/defender Megan Chiasson for the remainder of the 2026 season.
A Nova Scotia native, Chiasson joins the Tides after a standout collegiate career at Dalhousie University, where she established herself as one of the top players in Atlantic University Sport (AUS).
Over her time with the Dalhousie Tigers, Chiasson built a decorated resume. She was named an AUS First Team All-Star in 2022, 2023 and 2025, after breaking out with Second Team All-Star honours and the AUS Rookie of the Year award in 2021. Her rookie season also earned her a spot on the U SPORTS All-Rookie Team, and she went on to be named a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian in 2022 and a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian in 2023.
Chiasson joins the Tides as a versatile midfielder/defender, bringing composure on the ball and a strong competitive edge out of possession- qualities that made her one of the most consistent players in the conference during her time at Dalhousie.
"I am so excited to be joining the Halifax Tides," Chiasson said. "The opportunity to play professionally in Halifax, in front of my family, friends, and the community that means so much to me, is truly a dream come true."
For a hometown player, the signing marks the latest step in a soccer journey that started in Halifax and never really left. From the Western Halifax club system, through a decorated run at Dalhousie, and now into the professional ranks with the city's own Northern Super League club.
Chiasson is expected to be available for selection immediately. The Tides will play their next home game at Wanderers Grounds on Sept. 19 at 3 p.m.
