Halifax Tides FC (6-9-3, 21 points) return to the road Saturday, Sept. 5, travelling to Burnaby, BC to face Vancouver Rise FC (7-9-2, 23 points) at Swangard Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. AT / 4 p.m. PT.

Just two points separate the Tides and Rise in the Northern Super League standings, with Vancouver sitting fourth and Halifax fifth heading into Saturday’s matchup. The teams have met four times this season, with Halifax holding a 1-2-1 record. The Tides earned a 1-0 victory at Swangard Stadium on July 25, while Vancouver claimed a 2-1 win at the same venue on Aug. 15.

Halifax enters Saturday’s match following a 1-0 loss to Montréal Roses on Aug. 29. The Tides remain within striking distance of the league’s top four with six matches remaining in the regular season.

Players to Watch:
Jordyn Rhodes leads the Tides with five goals this season and has been a consistent threat in front of goal, leading Halifax with 51 total shots. Rhodes scored in the Tides’ 2-1 loss to Vancouver on Aug. 15.

Julianne “Jubes” Vallerand has made an impact at both ends of the pitch this season. The fullback has four goals while ranking second in the league with 71 total tackles, making her one of Halifax’s key contributors on both sides of the pitch.

For Vancouver, Jessica De Filippo enters Saturday’s match tied for the league lead with 10 goals. De Filippo has scored in both of Vancouver’s most recent meetings with Halifax, including the game-winning goal in stoppage time on Aug. 15.
