Halifax Tides FC (7-10-3, 24 points) returns to Wanderers Grounds on Saturday, Sept. 19, to face AFC Toronto (9-5-6, 33 points) in a Northern Super League matchup with playoff implications. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. AT, with the match broadcast live on CBC.

Halifax enters the weekend fifth in the NSL standings, two points behind fourth-place Vancouver Rise. A win would move the Tides into the final playoff position with matches remaining on the schedule. Toronto sits second in the table.

The two sides have met three times this season. The first meeting ended in a nil-nil draw at BMO Field on May 3, before Toronto took both fixtures at Wanderers Grounds – a 1-0 result on July 5 and a 2-0 victory on Aug. 23. Halifax is still searching for its first goal against Toronto in the 2026 season.

Halifax enters Saturday's match following a 1-0 loss to Calgary Wild on Sept. 12. Halifax has gone 1-4-0 over its last five matches.

Toronto comes in off a 2-2 draw with Montréal Roses on Sept. 10. Lauren Rowe and Nikki Small scored in the final 10 minutes to secure a point and move the club into second place in the standings. Toronto is unbeaten in its last four (2-0-2) and has gone 2-1-2 across its last five.

Players to Watch:
Midfielder Julia Benati has been an important contributor with four goals and an assist, including a stoppage-time winner against Vancouver Rise on Sept. 5.

Toronto will be without leading scorer Kaylee Hunter (nine goals), away on international duty. That places added responsibility on Sarah Stratigakis, who has four goals this season, along with Rowe and Small, both coming off goals against Montréal.
