Halifax Tides FC have signed goalkeeper Kirstin Tynan from Vancouver Rise FC, on a short-term loan, for the remainder of the 2026 Northern Super League season.

A Vancouver native, Tynan was part of Vancouver’s inaugural NSL championship-winning squad in 2025.

Tynan joined the professional ranks after a standout four-year career at Queen’s University, where she made 58 U SPORTS starts and recorded 33 clean sheets. She captained the Gaels in 2023 and 2024, was named a U SPORTS All-Canadian and OUA First Team All-Star in 2023, and helped Queen’s win the 2021 OUA championship.

Tynan also spent two seasons with TSS Rovers in League1 BC and trained with English Women’s Super League side Everton FC in 2023.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Kirstin to Halifax. She is a talented goalkeeper who knows the league well and has already experienced what it takes to be part of a championship-winning environment. Kirstin is incredibly ambitious and driven to make an impact at this level, and we’re excited to give her the opportunity to continue her development here in Halifax.” – Ruth Fahy, VP Football

She joins the Tides on loan following the departure of goalkeeper Rylee Foster-Inman, and will join Anika Tóth and Samantha St. Croix in Halifax’s goalkeeping group.
