HALIFAX, NS - July 7, 2026 - Today, Halifax Tides FC joins the Northern Super League in recognizing a significant milestone for the league, as APEX, a global investment firm becomes a strategic investor in Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league.
The investment marks the first completed private equity investment in a professional women’s soccer league globally and reflects continued confidence in the growth and future of professional women’s soccer in Canada.
As a founding club of the Northern Super League, Halifax Tides FC has been part of the league’s efforts to establish a sustainable professional pathway for women’s soccer across the country. Club president Val Malone is available to discuss what the announcement means for the league, Halifax Tides FC and the continued growth of the sport in Canada.
