HALIFAX, N.S – Centre back Addy Weichers has extended her contract with Halifax Tides FC, returning for the club’s 2026 season after a steady and dependable first year in Halifax.
Weichers appeared in 19 matches last season, logging 1,512 minutes and finishing the year with an 81.2 per cent defensive duel success rate. She won 28 aerial duels, completed 63 clearances and made 50 tackles, providing steady defensive work during the club’s first year in the Northern Super League (NSL).
With possession, the defender, who holds dual American and Canadian citizenship
was among Halifax’s most reliable passers, completing 82.7 per cent of her attempts. She also added six shots across the season, contributing on set pieces and in attacking moments.
“Addy demonstrated last season that she is a team-first player,” Said head coach Stephen Hart. “She is always supportive of her teammates and willing to listen, adapt and improve. When called upon, her contribution was consistent, and she pushed to make the position her own.”
Weichers joined the Tides in February 2025 and earned regular minutes during her first year as a professional. She returns to Halifax at 24, with the club preparing for its second season in the NSL.
