Remote Scouts
Location: Remote (Domestic & International Markets)
Employment Status: Contractor – Part Time
Reports to: Sporting Director

Job Description:
Halifax Tides FC is seeking Remote Scouts to support the work of our Scouting Department. The successful applicants will assist with the identification and monitoring of recruitment targets for the Halifax Tides First Team. The Club is seeking Remote Scouts to cover both domestic and international markets. Specialized knowledge of the following markets will be considered an advantage: Canada, USA, Scandinavia, Africa, Asia, Mexico and South America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Watching video footage of matches from selected leagues as directed.
- Compiling reports on assigned players and leagues, containing quantitative and qualitative data and observations.
- Adhering to Club’s profiling criteria, positional requirements and report format when watching assigned players.
- Attending ad-hoc meetings or training events (virtual) as required.
- Attending designated matches in-person as required.
Essential Skill Requirements
- Proficient verbal and written English language skills.
- High level of football knowledge, with a preference for expertise in women’s football.
- Coaching background preferred.
- Extensive experience using Wyscout and Hudl.
- Experience working in a similar role and a thorough understanding of objective and subjective scouting methods.
- A passion for talent identification and scouting.
- Analytical mindset when watching football.
- Advanced IT skills, and an excellent overall level of literacy.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Trustworthiness and appreciation of confidential information.
The Remote Scout role requires flexibility to cover evening and weekend work as required and will be offered on a remote, part-time contractor basis.
